  • Rhebo wins Saarstahl AG, one of Germany's largest steel companies
  • Anomaly detection Rhebo Industrial Protector will monitor and secure process stability
  • Strong interest in powerful monitoring solutions at the Steel 4.0 Innovation Forum

Leipzig / Völklingen, Germany, 31 July 2018 - Rhebo has won Saarstahl AG as a user for its "Industrial Network Continuity" solution Rhebo Industrial Protector. In a first step, the German technology company will carry out a Rhebo Industrie 4.0 Stability and Security Audit (RISSA) of the Industrial Control System (ICS) of the successful steel company deploying its industrial anomaly detection.

The audit serves the initial analysis and evaluation of the "Readiness for Industry 4.0" of the ICS. The passive, non-intrusive anomaly detection sensors are installed at relevant points within the ICS of steel production in order to holistically visualize the network structure and communication patterns. In past RISSAs at other German steel companies, for example, unauthorized Internet connections, unsecure communication and critical network participants as well as transmission errors and erroneous data packets that threatened process stability were identified.

Digitization Already in Full Swing

"Digitization and Industry 4.0 have already been in the implementation phase at Saarstahl for many years and will be further advanced. One of the goals is to make manufacturing processes even leaner and more flexible. However, we are also aware of the challenges associated with expanding networking. It is important to protect digital processes against malfunctions in the best possible way. With Rhebo we have found an efficient, agile German partner for this task", Daniel Kastner, Head of Communications Technology at Saarstahl AG, explains the decision for Rhebo Industrial Protector.

»Saarstahl AG is a high-tech company that relies on modern technologies and production processes. We are pleased that Saarstahl, as one of the largest employers in the German federal state Saarland, Germany, trusts Rhebo for its further digital development«, confirms Klaus Mochalski, CEO of Rhebo, the cooperation. »At the Steel 4.0 Innovation Forum at the beginning of June this year, participants also showed great interest in practical solutions to the challenges of the digital future.«
