Economic espionage

Economic espionage is the governmentally orchestrated espionage of companies or corporations. Often falsely titled "industrial espionage", this particular form of espionage is generally conducted by a government and their secret services instead of other commercial corporations. In June 2013, the revelations of whistle-blower Edward Snowden identified a global network of economic espionage activitities. According to the Snowden material, the German government even supported the US-American National Security Agency (NSA) with their spying on German companies.
